EnergySaver - Power Management Systems

CMC's Energy Saver System will help you save more Money!!

Do you have three phase requirements, with only single-phase availability? Are you looking for a way to use less energy and avoid high energy costs?

EnergySaver Combines All Of These Features Into One Easy To Use Unit!!!!

Dale Schock (pictured above) says: "With the rebate from the power company and my reduced cost to dry, it easily paid for itself the first year."

Richard Sanford
Sanford Farms, Old Hams, Virginia

"I like the CMC solution using their Energy Saver control package to soft-start, and vary the speed of our motors, because we do both corn and soybeans. It performed just as they said - without problems. It worked great."

Speed Control

How It Works

Be able to run your electric motors at the exact speed required or desired for better operation.

How It Helps
Lower rpm requires less power:

  • 100% of speed – 100% of power
  • 80% of speed – 50% of power
  • 50% of speed – 12% of power
With the energy reduction, along with the slower rpm, it will help decrease cost of operation, and increase motor lifetime.

Benefits
  • Run at slower speeds
  • Reduced over-drying
  • Reduced cost to run

Soft Start

How It Works
Slowly ramps up the speed to the electric motor to limit the inrush current during the start of fan.

How It Helps

  • The soft start decreases the power used on startup.
  • This lowers utility demand charges during starting.
  • This also helps the lifetime of bearings by putting less stress on bearings during startup, for longer motor lifetime.

Benefits
  • Slowly ramps up speed
  • Reduced starting cost
  • Longer motor lifetime

Merl Stewart, Conrad IA (pictured above) says: "The system I purchased has been a very, very useful and efficient tool to use in my farm operation."

Michael Prochnow
Hankinson, ND

"It’s the best thing that could have ever happened to a single phase farm with power limitations.
We love it!"

Auto Start

How It Works
If power is lost, then restored, the controller will re-start and resume speed automatically.

How It Helps

  • Keep your motors running without interruption.
  • No unforeseen downtime due to power loss.
  • Giving customers the confidence that their equipment is still operating.

Benefits
  • Programmable starts
  • More manageable
  • Less worry

Phase Converter

How It Works
Converts single phase to 3-phase to run larger and more energy-efficient electric motors.

How It Helps
Our solid-state technology gives the ability to run 3-phase motors with single phase power input.

  • Decreasing installation expense
  • Lower operation costs
  • Lower maintenance costs
  • Gives your equipment a longer lifetime

Benefits
  • Run larger fan motors
  • Reduced cost to run
  • Cheaper installations

Chris Erickson/Cass County Electric Cooperative/Power Quality Technician
"The new technology that Variable Frequency Drives offer for phase conversion can be a very good solution for rural Single-Phase farms when comparing it to the existing technology of rotary phase converters."

Dale Schock, Staples, MN
"With the rebate from the power company and my reduced cost to dry, it easily paid for itself the first year."

Efficiency is the key to successful farm management!

Convert your diesel power to energy efficient electric power!

Convert Single-Phase to Three-Phase

Cost of Operation

Diesel - $5,059.68
Electric - $1,490.40

$3,569.28
Difference

The following is an estimate on the cost of operation,
estimate will be based on 400 hrs of operation:
Average US cost of 1 kilowatt hour (kwh) is $0.09 Average price for
1 US gallon of Diesel #2 costs of $3.81 per gallon

Electrical

50 Hp, 460 volt, 61 amp
Circuit amps with phase conversion = 90 amps
Volts x Amps = watts (1000 watts = 1 kilowatt)
460 x 90 = 41,400 watts (41.4 kilowatts/kw)
41.4 kw x 400 hrs of operation = 16,560 kwh
16,560 kwh x $0.09 per kwh = $1,490.40

Diesel

Cummins B3.3-80 (3-cylinder, Diesel engine)
Fuel usage: 3.32 gallons per hour (gph)
loaded at 1600 rpm/66 hp
(Diesel to Electrical torque is
Electric Horsepower x 1.73 = Diesel Hp)
3.32 gph x 400 hrs. = 1328 gallons
1328 gallons x 3.81 = $5,059.68

With today’s rising energy prices, using the most efficient solutions for your operation is more important now more than ever. Updating older equipment such as diesel driven pumps is a must to be a successful farm operation.

The time is now to invest in newer technology to help ensure a return on every penny you spend on the crops in the field.
Let us help you make sure your investment is a wise decision that will last for years to come.
